Hey Kimlay,

I didn't have a chance to say goodbye so I thought I'd write to you! Thankyou for everything in Cambodia, I loved my time there and at the orphanage and would love to come back in the future if there is any space for me! I feel that after spending three weeks in Cambodia that this wasn't enough time for me, especially to get to know the children, by the third week I felt that I was creating a good bond with the majority of them and then I had to leave! So I hope I can visit again sometime!

Thankyou and take care!

Hi Kimlay!

How are you? I'm fine. I'm back at university now, and it feels like I haven't even been away! I miss Cambodia though, and wish I could see the kids.

I've sent a disk of photo I took of the pagoda kids while I was there. There's lots of them, and some of me, Crystal and David, so hopefully they enjoy looking at them on the computer.

Could you please take the CD to them, and tell them all I said hello and I am missing them very much.

Thanks Kimlay, and thank you for helping me while I was in Cambodia.

Love from
Bo

Hi Andre & Lily,

Just wanted let you know i'll be writing an article about my trip when I return to Leeds ( for a small publication that circulates the area ) i'll be sure to mention CCOLT and Lotus Lodge, I was very impressed with the place, the service and the hospitality of the staff - I'd recommend it to anyone travelling to Siam Reap !!

Hi Kimlay,

How are you? I'm back in Australia now and settling into my new job. I have been trying to send some photos to Annie, but must have written her email address down incorrectly. I was wondering if you could send it to me?
I also have some photos of the children that I promised I would send to them. Is it best to send them via your Local Adventures address?
I hope you're well, and that so are the children. Thanks once more for all you did whilst I was in Cambodia. I had a wonderful time.

Hello Kimlay!

It was such a shame I didn't get to say goodbye to you in person - my phone had no more credit on when we were in the bus on the way back to Phnom Penh from Siam Reap so I texted you from George's phone, I hope you got that text?

I wanted to thank you so much for all your help and support in Phnom Penh. I had a fantastic time there and very much enjoyed the experience at CCOLT. The staff and children there are such lovely people.

I met Lilly at the Lotus lodge, you both definitely look like brother and sister!

Many thanks again, kind regards
Jenny

Dear Mr Kimlay Lim,

You may remember me since we visited Colt in November last year together with Dr Sam Sokvyrak from above mentioned Samrong farm. We have just come back from another visit (sorry no time to meet you) in Cambodia and are glad to see that some cooperation between your organisation and Samrong has developed and that there are now 2 volunteers working overthere. We hope that things are working well for both organisations and that the cooperation may continue in the future. Could you perhaps give us the names of the present volunteers? We unfortunately missed to meet them (we were there only late on Friday night) but since they are Dutch and seem to know us, we are interested who they are. Are these the first volunteers to work at Samrong or have there been any before them?

As you know we are building a library/computer room which will soon be finished. I understand you have already been speaking to Dr Vyrak about finding a possible volunteer to assist with the installing of the computers, wireless internet and a small computernetwork (project). That may be a good opportunity to expand our cooperation further.

We look forward to hear from you!

Best regards,
Peter Maat

Kimlay -

It's Dee from New York.  I hope you are doing well. I wanted to write to thank you for all of your help and guidance while I was in Phnom Penh for the first week of December.  I really enjoyed my week there and also enjoyed my week in Siem Reap.  The Lotus Lodge was very nice and Andre and Lily are lovely!

My time at CCOLT seemed very short and I wish that I could have done more.  I am going to get the contact information from Andre for the people in the US that have set up a non-profit organization to accept donations for CCOLT so that I can send money.

I would also like to send some clothing that can be given to the children at CCOLT and at the dumpsite and wanted to get information from you about sponsoring a child from the dumpsite. Can you please let me know how I can send some clothing and how I can arrange to sponsor one of the children?

Please send everyone at CCOLT my regards.

Kind regards,

Dee

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, I have thoroughtly enjoyed this experience and will cherish for the rest of my life. I came to Cambodia not knowing what to expect, but my three weeks here have been unimaginable and better than any expectations I could have ever had.

The teaching has been rewarding and the children both at the Pagoda and CCOLT are ny far the most happy and content. I feel like I want to be a part of their lives forever. I hope with me being her I have made a difference to their lives and wish them all the best in life.

I will be back very soon and hope to see everyone at Khmer Volunteer Program and Local Adventures because without their support this would not have been possible.

Once again a humble thank you -- please don't forget me as I will cherish this expeerience in my heart for eternity.

Love & Many best whishes!

Hello Kimlay,

I'm volunteering at the riverside in the little community. The placement is very nice. The children are lovely and their parents are very kind and I think they like us there around to give English lessons to there children unfortunatelly there is no school so we sit in the floor of the community leader's house which is good for now. But I think it is good to give more lessons also in the morning and the afternoon than you need a school also for all the material we have.

The placement: Lovely! The children who come to the English lesson are very kind and they all want to learn and I think that is the best we can have! But for the progression. I think it is better when you split the group in order en younger want. You can do that with a morning and afternoon class.

My satisfaction at my placement is good. I like it very much to see the progression the kids make, and the warm welcome from the community helps a lot. I think a good start for that community kids is a ‘’school building’’ so everybody can come to school English/Khmer lesson old, young is doesn’t matter everybody must have the opportunity to learn go to school.

Kimlay you do your job very well. Thanks for your helps and supports.

Hello Kimlay

Our placement at COLT has progressed nicely and we feel that we have come a long way as teacher. We have split the group into 2, older and younger, and have included in our lesson plans, among other things, verbs and adjectives, tense usage, plurals, math lessons, and prepositions. The kids are so sweet and fun to spend time with and it has been a pleasure to know them! The staff continues to be kind and helpful to us.

We have taken 2 excellent weekend trips to siem reap and kampot, and have managed to fit in all of the recommended Phnom Penh sights in this last week. It has worked out well that we spent morning at COLT, because this affords us the opportunity to use afternoons to sightsee, explore new neighborhoods, and prepare for our next day’s lessons.
